Basil is one of the most commonly consumed herbs and it has the ability to add a nice Italian flare to just about any dish. It tastes amazing chopped and added to a freshly made meal. But what is the best way to use basil? In a pesto! Here you have the easiest recipe for a good raw pesto. Enjoy!
Ingredients for the raw pesto
- 60 gr. fresh basil
- 30 gr. Pine buds
- 2 tablespoons inactive yeast
- 2 tablespoons coconut butter (you can also use half an avocado instead of butter, if you think you are eating the sauce in the next 2 days)
- juice of half a lemon
- 1-2 cloves of garlic
- salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Soak the pine buds for an hour, or, if you want to feel their aroma even stronger, you can grind them before mixing them with the other ingredients.
Add all the ingredients in a blender or in a food processor and mix, at a medium speed, until the sauce acquires a creamy consistency.
Put the sauce to work or store it in a jar in the fridge, for when you feel like it.
Simple, ready in less than 1 minute and mega-tasty!
